Welcome from IUPLR's Executive Director
The Inter-University Program for Latino Research
(IUPLR) is a national consortium of university-based Latino research
centers. Its research and dissemination aim to foster new knowledge
and greater understanding of the nation’s growing Latino population.
In 1983 IUPLR was founded to effect change through expanding the body
of knowledge on the Latino community at the local, state, regional, national,
and international levels.
IUPLR's guiding principle is to share resources and advance scholarship,
thus illuminating conditions and solving problems that affect Latinos
in the United States. IUPLR-sponsored research also serves to inform
public policy on these issues.
For more than 20 years IUPLR has offered training programs, sponsored
interdisciplinary research pertinent to Latinos and the nation as a whole,
and created links among scholars, policy experts, public officials, and
community advocates.
I encourage you to take some time to explore the resources
available at this site, including our updated calendar of events. We
welcome your suggestions on how to make this website more user-friendly
and informative. Contact us at iuplr@nd.edu.
Thank you for your interest in IUPLR.
Saludos,

Gilberto Cárdenas, PhD
Executive Director
